New Rankings Released: High School In Stafford Township Makes U.S. Top 50

Three Jersey Shore public high schools were recognized among the 100 best in the U.S., according to an education data website.

Niche has released its 2025 Best Public High Schools in America list. The website said its rankings are based on "rigorous analysis of key statistics," U.S. Department of Education data, and millions of reviews from students and parents.

Five of the top 50 high schools in the U.S. were from New Jersey, including two on the Jersey Shore. Bergen County Academies in Hackensack was the top school in the Garden State and 20th nationally.

Here are the seven South Jersey schools that made the top 250 in the U.S.:

  • 49. Marine Academy of Technology & Environmental Science (Stafford Township)
  • 76. Biotechnology HS (Freehold Township)
  • 138. West Windsor-Plainsboro HS South (Princeton Junction)
  • 147. Princeton HS
  • 226. West Windsor-Plainsboro HS North (Plainsboro Township)
  • 250. Academy of Allied Health & Science (Neptune Township)

In the statewide rankings, 29 schools in South Jersey made the top 100. Here's a county-by-county breakdown:

  • 30. Moorestown HS
Camden County
  • 31. Haddonfield Memorial HS
  • 66. Eastern Regional HS (Voorhees)
  • 70. Cherry Hill HS East
Cumberland County
  • 86. Cumberland County Technical Education Center
Mercer County
  • 11. West Windsor-Plainsboro HS South
  • 12. Princeton HS
  • 48. Robbinsville HS
  • 60. Hopewell Valley Central HS (Hopewell Township)

Middlesex County

  • 15. West Windsor-Plainsboro HS North
  • 23. Middlesex County Academy for Science, Mathematics, & Engineering Technologies (Edison)
  • 35. Metuchen HS
  • 36. South Brunswick HS
  • 42. J.P. Stevens HS (Edison)
  • 52. East Brunswick HS
  • 54. Middlesex County Academy for Allied Health & Biomedical Sciences (Woodbridge)

Monmouth County

Outside the top 100, Egg Harbor Township High School was ranked number one in Atlantic County and 103rd in the state. Gloucester County Institute of Technology in Deptford was Gloucester County's top school and 112th overall.

Ocean City High School topped the Cape May County list at 119th in the state. Woodstown High School was number one in Salem County and 228th overall.
